In January 2017, Electromet enhanced its CNC machining capability by installing a HAAS VS-3/50 CNC machining center in its Johnstown, PA machining facility. This CNC can support a machining envelop of 150 x 50 x 50 inches and gives Electromet a significant capability boost.
The extremely large envelop of the HAAS VS-3/50 allows Electromet to handle much larger machined components and to process them with much greater efficiency. Adding the VS-3/50 is both a capability and capacity enhancement.
Electromet expects to increase total manufacturing capacity by 30% in 2017 and the addition of the VS-3/50 is an important part of this plan to support the continued growth of Electromet’s defense business.
