Legacy GKI® Enclosures

Rugged and Reliable — Legacy GKI® enclosures are constructed from two primary designs: the Light/Medium Duty “960” Enclosure (payloads up to 1,500 lbs) and the Heavy Duty “CY” Enclosure (payloads up to 3,000 lbs). Both are based on a modular approach and consist of uniform construction using extruded aluminum sections and rails and a wide assortment of outer panels and razorbacks.
Various configurations are available so that enclosures can be used for open or closed rack installations. All parts are interchangeable with multiple options available without extensive redesign. The following features are common to both designs:
  • Qualified to MIL-S-901D (Shock) and MIL-STD-167 (Vibration) as “Hard Mounted” (W/O isolation systems)

  • Infinite adjustment of electronic equipment positioning using standard 19” EIA hole spacing via front mounting rails

  • Optional EIA rails at the rear and additional intermediate EIA rails with flexible front-to-back positioning available

  • Bolt-together construction, featuring high strength alloy steel bolts

  • Hatchable (easily disassembled to fit through standard U.S. Navy hatches & doors)

  • Sealed lifting eye bolt threaded holes, even with lifting eyes removed

  • Front and rear doors with shock pins

  • Single bay and multi-bay configurations

  • Razorbacks and side/rear panels

  • Size up to 75″ High, 36″ Deep and 22.31″ Wide (960) or 22.875″ Wide (CY)

  • Payload:  “960” Enclosure

    • Up to 300 lbs. as open rack

    • 300-450 lbs. with side/rear panels

    • 450-1,500 lbs. with side/rear panels, center frame support & isolation system

  • Payload:  “CY” Enclosure

    • 500-3,000Lbs

  • Meets or exceeds:

    • Seismic Zone 4 per GR-63-CORE

    • Transportation per MIL-STD-810

    • Drip Proof per MIL-STD-108

    • EMI/RFI per MIL-STD-461

  • Note:  Heavy Duty “CY” Enclosure incorporates a welded frame construction, a heavy duty “foot” extrusion, cored corner post extrusion and double wall construction.
