News : Electromet attains Lockheed Martin approval for type II (“hex-free”) chromate

Having been a Lockheed Martin Approved Special Process Supplier for Type I Chromate Conversion Coating for several years, Electromet Corp. has met all the requirements and been granted Lockheed Martin approval for processing Type II Chromate Conversion Coatings as well. This enables Electromet to better control delivery, quality and cost of this important special process, thereby providing better service to Lockheed Martin in both companies’ ongoing efforts to reduce the use of hazardous materials, of which hexavalent chromium, used in Type I coating, is a well-known example.
