Unavoidable shocks and vibrations from combat and the environment take a toll on naval computer equipment. To help eliminate frequent repurchasing and installation of those systems, Global Technical Systems (GTS) designed and developed a new way to house and protect mission critical hardware. The challenge was presenting their system’s advanced capabilities in a meaningful way that could be quickly and easily understood.
Digimation developed a realistic product simulation video that steps through each component of the system. Users have the opportunity to trigger a 186 g-force shock event and see exactly how the system mitigates damage to the inner cabinet. The product simulator is the centerpiece for GTS tradeshow displays and an essential sales tool in the field.
Dean Nohe, the program manager for Global Technical Systems said “Digimation has enabled us to demonstrate a typically unattractive and featureless rack from the outside, into something dramatic and interesting by exploring features and parts not typically seen. Using Digimation’s simulation, we are able to demonstrate features and capabilities that we would typically not be able to do with a 2,000-pound piece of equipment.”
