In September 2020, Electromet enhanced its CNC machining capability by installing a HAAS GM-2 CNC machining center in its Hagerstown, MD machining facility.
This Gantry 5-Axis CNC can support a machining envelop of 145 x 87.5 x 39.4 inches and gives Electromet a significant capability and capacity boost. The extremely large envelop of the HAAS GM-2 allows Electromet to handle much larger machined components and to process them with much greater efficiency.
Adding the GM-2 is both a capability and capacity enhancement. Electromet expects to increase total manufacturing capacity by 25% in 2020 and the addition of the GM-2 is an important part of this plan to support the continued growth of Electromet’s defense business.
